Artie Romero launched CityStar Group, Inc. in 1999. The company was originally established as a sole proprietorship by Romero in December, 1994. CityStar® registered the citystar.com domain and began building the website that would become the International Business Directory in December, 1996. CityStar Group, Inc. was voluntarily dissolved by Romero in 2015.
In the third quarter of 2014, Romero auctioned the CityStar domains, website, registered trademark and other IP assets. They were purchased by Greg Tracy of Salt Lake City, Utah, who in turn sold the assets to Phoenix, Arizona based BizIQ LLC.
